What is Koh's animal testing policy?

Koh products are not tested on animals at any stage of product development, formulation, or production. Koh also does not commission third parties, including suppliers, contract laboratories, or testing facilities, to conduct animal testing on Koh's behalf. This applies across the entire product range, including the cleaning range, the laundry range, and accessories. Koh's product safety and performance is assessed through non-animal testing methods, including in-vitro testing, dermatological testing under published protocols (such as Dermatest), and other established non-animal assessment methods used in the cleaning products industry.

✓ What this means in practice

Koh products are not tested on animals at any stage of development, formulation, or production. We don't commission third parties (suppliers, contract laboratories, or testing facilities) to conduct animal testing on our behalf. This applies across the full Koh range.

Product safety and performance is assessed through non-animal methods. For example, several products in the cleaning range carry Dermatest certification, which assesses skin tolerance under a published testing protocol that does not involve animals.

Is Koh certified cruelty-free?

Koh does not currently hold third-party cruelty-free certification from external programs such as Leaping Bunny (Cruelty Free International), Choose Cruelty Free (now part of Cruelty Free International), or PETA Beauty Without Bunnies. Koh's no-animal-testing position is a stated company policy rather than an externally audited certification at this time. Customers who want independent third-party verification of cruelty-free status can look for products carrying those certifications. Note that these programs were originally developed for cosmetic and personal care products and are not universally adopted across the cleaning products category.

Customers who want independently audited third-party verification can look for products carrying one of those certifications. Note that these programs were originally developed for cosmetic and personal care products and aren't universally adopted across the cleaning products category.
