How do I use Bathroom & Shower Cleaner in the Foaming Spray Bottle?Updated a day ago
TL;DR: Bathroom & Shower Cleaner is ready to use, not a concentrate. Pour it straight from the 1.8L box into Foaming Spray Bottle as it comes, filling to just below the shoulder so the pump has an air gap to work with. No water, no measuring, no mixing it with anything else. For a light clean, lay down two foam lines in a criss-cross across the surface. For heavy build-up, add two diagonals to make a star. Let it sit 2 to 10 minutes depending on how bad it is, then wipe and rinse. One box refills the bottle about four times, which is around six months of weekly cleans in an average home.
Is Bathroom & Shower Cleaner a concentrate?
⚠ Ready to use, so do not water it down
There is no dilution ratio to get right, because there is no dilution. The formula is built to work at the strength it leaves the box at, and every splash of water you add takes it further from that.
The same goes for topping the bottle up with another product. Mixing cleaners is how you end up with something that foams less, cleans less and behaves in a way nobody has tested. One product, one bottle.
How do I fill the Foaming Spray Bottle?
✓ Fill it in three steps
Open the tap, open the bottle. Pull the tap on the 1.8L box forward and unscrew the foaming head. Stand the bottle on a flat surface rather than holding it.
Pour to just below the shoulder. Leave a small air gap at the top. A foaming pump needs air as well as liquid, so a bottle filled to the brim will spit rather than foam.
Screw the head back on firmly. Close the tap on the box, give the pump a couple of primes, and it is ready.
Refills per box
About four
One 1.8L box fills the Foaming Spray Bottle roughly four times.
How long that lasts
Around six months
Six months of weekly cleans in an average home. More bathrooms or harder water and it goes faster.

The foaming pump bottle Bathroom & Shower Cleaner is designed to go in. Refill it from the box rather than replacing it, and grab a spare when the pump eventually wears out.
⚠ If the bottle stops foaming properly
Nine times out of ten it is one of three things. The bottle is overfilled, so the pump has no air to draw. The head is not screwed on square. Or dried product has built up in the nozzle after a stretch without use.
Pour a little out, re-seat the head, and run warm water through the pump for a few strokes. Rinse the bottle out with warm water before a refill and it rarely happens at all.
How much foam should I spray?
✓ Light to moderate clean
Two foam lines in a criss-cross. One horizontal across the surface, one vertical. Spread it out with the block colour side of Ultra Pro Bathroom Mitt, let it sit, then wipe and rinse.
✓ Heavy build-up
Add two diagonal lines so the pattern makes a star. More coverage, longer time on the surface, then the striped scrubby side of the mitt for anything still holding on.
⚠ More foam is not more clean
Emptying half the bottle onto a shower screen does not shift grime faster. It just means a longer rinse and a box that runs out sooner. What actually moves the needle is even coverage and time on the surface, which is why the criss-cross exists.
How long should the foam sit before I rinse?
Weekly maintenance
2 to 3 minutes
Criss-cross, spread, wait, rinse. No scrubbing required.
Moderate soap scum
Around 5 minutes
Criss-cross, spread, wait, then a light pass with the striped side.
Heavy build-up
Up to 10 minutes
Star pattern, re-spray if it starts to dry, then scrub and rinse well.
✓ Finish with a rinse, every time
This is a foam and rinse product. Rinse the surface down with water after wiping rather than buffing the foam off dry, or you will see streaking on glass and a film on tiles. Drying glass afterwards is what gets you the streak-free finish.
