Is Bathroom & Shower Cleaner fragrance-free?Updated 7 hours ago
TL;DR: Yes, Bathroom & Shower Cleaner is deliberately fragrance-free. No perfumes, no masking scents, no synthetic fragrance ingredients. Great for asthma, allergies, and fragrance-sensitive noses. If you'd like a light scent, add 2 to 3 drops of a mild essential oil (such as lavender or eucalyptus) to your Foaming Spray Bottle. Never citrus oils, as they damage the foamer mechanism.

Is Bathroom & Shower Cleaner fragrance-free?
Yes. Bathroom & Shower Cleaner contains no added perfumes, masking scents, or synthetic fragrance ingredients. The absence of fragrance is part of what makes it Sensitive Choice approved by the National Asthma Council Australia. You may notice a very mild, clean scent from the ingredients themselves (ethanol, for example) but nothing perfumed, and it rinses away with water leaving no lingering smell.
✓ No added fragrance
No perfumes. No masking agents. No synthetic fragrance. Part of what makes Bathroom & Shower Cleaner suitable for asthma, allergies, and fragrance-sensitive households. Rinses away leaving no scent behind.
Can I add a scent myself?
Yes. Add 2 to 3 drops of a mild essential oil (lavender or eucalyptus work well) to your Foaming Spray Bottle after you mix the foam. Swirl gently to combine. Keep it minimal: 2 to 3 drops is enough for a subtle scent without affecting the formula or the foamer. More than that risks clogging the mechanism or leaving oily residue on surfaces. If anyone in your home is scent-sensitive, skip this step entirely.
✓ How to add a light scent
Fill the foamer. Mix Bathroom & Shower Cleaner in your Foaming Spray Bottle as normal.
Add 2 to 3 drops of essential oil. Lavender or eucalyptus are safe choices. Don't go over 3 drops per fill.
Swirl gently. Combine. Don't shake hard, that creates pre-foam and can block the nozzle.
Why can't I use citrus oils?
Citrus oils (lemon, orange, bergamot, lime, grapefruit) contain natural solvents (d-limonene and other terpenes) that swell and degrade the plastic and rubber seals inside the Foaming Spray Bottle mechanism. Over time this causes sluggish spray, sticking triggers, leaking seals, and eventually mechanical failure. Lavender and eucalyptus are much gentler on the plastics. If you want a citrus scent, use it in a diffuser instead, not in the foamer.
⚠ Avoid citrus oils in the foamer
Lemon, orange, bergamot, lime, and grapefruit contain d-limonene and terpene solvents that swell and degrade the seals inside the foamer. Sluggish spray, sticking triggers, and eventually leaks follow. Lavender and eucalyptus are safe picks.
What do I do if the nozzle feels sluggish?
Flush the Foaming Spray Bottle with warm water. Empty it, refill with clean warm water, and spray through the head 10 to 15 times to clear any oil residue or product build-up from the mechanism. Repeat if needed. If the sluggish spray persists after a good flush, the foamer mechanism may be degraded beyond recovery. A replacement foamer is available on the Koh site.
✓ Clear a sluggish foamer
Empty and refill with warm water. Tip out any remaining product. Fill with clean warm water.
Spray through the head 10 to 15 times. Clears oil residue and product build-up from the mechanism.
Refill and test. If it's still sluggish, the foamer may be degraded. Replacements are available on the Koh site.
