What's in Dishwashing Liquid?
Ten ingredients, each with a specific role. The cleaning power comes from three enzymes — lipase (breaks down fats and oils), protease (breaks down protein-based food like egg, meat, and dairy), and amylase (breaks down starches from pasta and rice) — working with two surfactants, sodium laureth sulfate and cocamidopropyl betaine, that lift grease and generate foam. Glycerine protects hands from drying. Deionised water is the base. Sodium formate buffers pH. Calcium chloride and sodium chloride manage viscosity and foam in hard water. An MCIT/MIT preservative blend prevents bacterial and fungal growth.
Deionised Water
Base solvent that dissolves and disperses all actives evenly while preventing mineral residue.
Sodium Laureth Sulfate
Primary surfactant that lifts grease, boosts foam, and cleans effectively.
Cocamidopropyl Betaine
Secondary surfactant that stabilises foam and enhances grease-cutting power.
Glycerine
Humectant and viscosity agent that protects hands from drying and smooths application.
MCIT/MIT Preservative
Antimicrobial guard that prevents bacterial or fungal growth for longer shelf life.
Sodium Formate
pH buffer and stabiliser that keeps the formula balanced and cleaning performance consistent.
Calcium Chloride
Water softener and thickener that improves foam in hard water and enhances grease removal.
Lipase
Enzyme that breaks down fats and oils for deeper degreasing.
Protease and Amylase
Enzymes that dissolve proteins and starches for smarter cleaning.
Sodium Chloride
Viscosity modifier and foam enhancer that thickens the liquid and improves bubble formation.
Where can I find the safety data sheet?
The safety data sheet (SDS) is a technical document covering handling, storage, and emergency information for regulatory and safety compliance. Most customers won't need it, but it's available below for those who do (workplaces, commercial kitchens, strata managers, accessibility purposes, etc).
