Can I add essential oils to my dishwasher?Updated 14 days ago
TL;DR: Yes. Place 1 to 2 drops of Koh essential oil on top of your Dishwashing Tab for a light scent. Never pour oil into the dispenser, machine interior, or onto rubber seals. Stick to 1 to 2 drops max, more can leave residue or affect seals over time.
How do I add essential oils?
✓ Four-step method
Load and place the tab. Load your dishwasher as normal. Place Dishwashing Tab in the detergent compartment.
Add 1 to 2 drops on top. Place 1 to 2 drops of Koh essential oil directly onto the top surface of the tab. Don't drip into the compartment or onto the seal.
Close the compartment. Don't pour oil into the dispenser, the machine interior, or onto rubber seals.
Run the cycle. Wash as you normally would. Light scent without affecting cleaning performance.
What should I watch for?
⚠ Keep it to 1 to 2 drops
More than 1 to 2 drops can leave residue or streaks on glassware and cutlery. Over time, excess oil may affect rubber seals or door gaskets in the machine. Notice residue, streaking, or scent that doesn't rinse off? Reduce the dose or stop using oil for that wash.
✓ Which oils to use
Use Koh essential oils for compatibility with the Koh Dishwashing Tab formula. Used sparingly, they shouldn't affect cleaning performance. Store oils safely away from children and pets.
