Do I need to scrub pots and pans before putting them in the dishwasher?Updated 2 hours ago
TL;DR: Our Dishwashing Tabs are designed to lift tough residues like dried egg yolk and baked-on food. In most cases, pots and pans should come out clean without heavy scrubbing. However, for heavily burnt or greasy cookware, a little prep can help.
When you may need to scrub first
If there’s thick, baked-on, or burnt food, giving it a light scrub before loading the dishwasher can improve results.
- Remove large food scraps
- Loosen burnt-on areas with a scrub
- Avoid overloading the dishwasher
Enzyme boost pre-treatment
For stubborn grease or baked-on grime, you can spray cookware with Kitchen Grease & Oil Cleaner before placing it in the dishwasher.
- Lightly spray the surface
- Leave it on for at least 15 minutes
- Then start the dishwasher cycle
This gives the enzymes time to work using their “lock and key” action to break down grease and food residues.
