What are Koh's environmental and ethical credentials?Updated 2 hours ago
TL;DR: Koh's credentials sit in three areas. Independent certifications covering ingredients, dermatological tolerance, asthma and allergen suitability, and eczema-prone skin (GECA, Sensitive Choice, Dermatest, Allergy UK, Eczema Association). Active partnerships: every order funds the rescue of 3 × 500mL ocean-bound plastic bottles via Greenspark and Plastic Bank, and we donate new cleaning supplies annually to Good360. Repair-first design: refillable packaging across the cleaning range, plus a spare parts catalogue so a single broken trigger doesn't write off a tool.
What independent certifications does Koh hold?
Koh products are tested against five independent certification programs. Different products carry different combinations.
✓ GECA
Good Environmental Choice Australia. Australia's multi-sector ecolabel. Universal Cleaner has been GECA certified since 2016.
✓ Sensitive Choice
A program of the National Asthma Council Australia (NACA). Screens for ingredients that may aggravate asthma symptoms.
✓ Dermatest
An independent dermatological testing institute. Assesses skin tolerance under a published testing protocol.
✓ Allergy UK
The British Allergy Foundation's Seal of Approval program. Currently held by Universal Cleaner.
✓ Eczema Association
Certifies products as suitable for eczema-prone skin. Held by Universal Cleaner, Bathroom & Shower Cleaner, Kitchen Grease & Oil Cleaner, and Dishwashing Liquid.

Has Koh won any awards?
✓ Canstar Customer Satisfaction · Bathroom Cleaner
Bathroom & Shower Cleaner won the Canstar Blue Customer Satisfaction Award for Bathroom Cleaner in 2025 and 2026, two years in a row. The award is based on independent consumer research surveying thousands of Australians.
Canstar Blue no longer runs a Multipurpose Cleaner category. Universal Cleaner won that category in 2022 and 2023, the first brand to win Canstar Blue Multipurpose Cleaner two years in a row.
What environmental and community partnerships does Koh fund?
✓ Plastic Rescue · Greenspark & Plastic Bank
Since April 2024, every Koh order funds the rescue of 3 × 500mL ocean-bound plastic bottles. Plastic Bank works with coastal communities in Haiti, Brazil, the Philippines, and Indonesia, where collectors receive a fair price for plastic they collect.
✓ Good360 · annual product donations
Koh donates new cleaning supplies each year to Good360, who distribute them to charities, schools, and people in need across Australia.
Between 2020 and 2024, Koh partnered with Eden Reforestation Projects to plant one tree per order. That program has since ended.
What does "repair-first design" mean?
✓ Refillable across the cleaning range
Universal Cleaner and Bathroom & Shower Cleaner ship in 2L. Dishwashing Liquid uses the Dish Pump. Sensitive Laundry Liquid uses the Laundry Pump.
✓ Spare parts catalogue
If a trigger head, pump nozzle, or mop bottle fails, individual replacement parts are listed separately. A broken part doesn't mean a written-off tool.
✓ Kerbside recyclable
Cleaning bottles and bag-in-box outer cardboard go in standard Australian council recycling collections.

GECA certified since 2016. Bag-in-box refill. The most-certified product in the Koh range.

Replacement trigger heads, pump nozzles, mop bottles. A broken part doesn't mean a written-off tool.
