What is the Reloop® additive?
Reloop® is a plastic additive technology built into the bottle at manufacturing. It doesn't affect performance or durability during the bottle's use life.
When the bottle eventually reaches a microbe-rich environment such as landfill or soil, the additive activates and attracts microbes that help break down the plastic's molecular structure. The intention is that it breaks down into biomass, water, and carbon dioxide rather than persisting as microplastics.
Unlike traditional biodegradable plastics that can degrade on the shelf, Reloop® materials are designed to stay stable and fully functional during their normal working life. The additive only activates under the right disposal conditions.
