TL;DR: Laundry Pump ships locked from the factory. Hold the white reservoir, then twist the pump head anti-clockwise while turning the reservoir clockwise to break the seal. The pump head will rise. Press it down a few times to prime, then it's ready to dispense.

How do I open Laundry Pump?

Laundry Pump ships in a locked position to prevent leaks during transit. To open, hold the white reservoir firmly with one hand, grip the pump head with the other, and twist them in opposite directions: pump head anti-clockwise, white reservoir clockwise. The pump head will rise once unlocked. If the head feels like it spins endlessly, give it a small upward tug while twisting to break the factory air-seal. Once raised, press the pump head down a few times to prime it. The first few pumps may dispense nothing while the dispenser draws liquid up the tube.

Try a firmer upward pull while twisting anti-clockwise. Make sure you're twisting the pump head, not the entire lid or bottle. If the pump is open but not dispensing, keep pressing to fully prime it.

How much Laundry Pump should I use per load?

Each press dispenses 4 mL of Sensitive Laundry Liquid. Use 4 pumps for a regular machine load, 6 pumps for a larger load, and 2 pumps per 5 litres of water for handwashing. Laundry Pump delivers the same 4 mL per press as Dish Pump, so it can also work as a backup dispenser for Dishwashing Liquid in a pinch.
