How do you wash Dish Sponges?Updated 3 days ago
TL;DR: Hand rinse Dish Sponges after use or machine wash in a laundry bag on a cold or delicate cycle (max 30 degrees) with Sensitive Laundry Liquid or Sensitive Laundry Sheets. Avoid bleach and fabric softener. Air dry completely.
How to wash
Quick hand wash
Rinse the sponge under running water, add a little dishwashing liquid, rub to remove soil, then rinse and wring gently.
Machine wash (for a regular refresh)
Place sponges inside a laundry or wash bag to protect them and your machine.
Wash on a cold or delicate cycle (max 30 degrees).
Use Sensitive Laundry Liquid or a Sensitive Laundry Sheet. Avoid bleach and fabric softener.
Drying and storage
Wring out excess water (do not twist aggressively) and allow the sponge to air dry between uses. Direct sunlight helps drying and keeps the sponge fresher where practical.
Quick tips
If a sponge dries out, re-hydrate it under the tap before use. Replace when excessively worn or if an odour develops.
