How long will Dusting Mitt last?Updated 9 hours ago
TL;DR: Treated kindly, Dusting Mitt stays fluffy for around 50 cold-wash cycles before you notice reduced dust pickup.
Durability
Wash-tested performance
The chenille polyester mitt was wash-tested under gentle, cold-cycle conditions. It held up for approximately 50 washes with minimal fibre flattening, and dust pickup remained above 90% of new until around wash 40.
Maximise lifespan
Wash cold, gentle cycle. Hot water shortens fibre life.
Skip fabric softener and bleach. They clog the dust-grabbing fingers.
Air-dry flat or hang. Never tumble-dry.
Shake between tasks to release dust and reduce wash frequency.
End of life
When it is time to replace
When the mitt finally loses its fluff, repurpose it for greasy garage or outdoor jobs, or check local textile-recycling programs that accept 100% polyester items. Standard kerbside recycling does not accept polyester textiles.

Time for a new one?
Chenille finger fibres trap dust, dirt, and pet hair on shelves, blinds, screens, and furniture without scratching. Replace when dust pickup drops off.
