How long does Loo Blade head last?Updated 4 hours ago

TL;DR: The head on your Loo Blade is rated for up to 2,000 uses, which works out to roughly 1 to 2 years in an average household. Rinse it after each use and let it dry in the ceramic pot, and keep bleach cleaners off it, since bleach can blemish and weaken the material. When it is time for a fresh one, Loo Blade Head pops straight on.

How long does Loo Blade head last?

Koh Loo Blade head is rated for up to 2,000 uses with regular domestic care, which is roughly 1 to 2 years in an average household. The head is 100% recycled TPE and holds its shape through repeated wetting and flexing. Rinse it after each use, shake off the drips, and stand it in the ceramic pot so air can circulate.

✓ What makes it last

Rinse the head in the fresh flush water after each use, shake off the drips, and stand it in the ceramic pot so air can get around it. A head left sitting wet in a closed space is the one that ages fastest.

What shortens the life of the head, and when should I replace it?

Chlorine bleach can blemish and weaken the head, so it wears out well before it needs to. Use Koh Loo Cleaner Tabs in the bowl instead. Replace the head when the blades stay splayed rather than springing back, when splits open along the edges, or when the head no longer grips the handle. Staining alone is cosmetic.

✓ Signs it is time for a new head

  • The blades feel soft or stay splayed instead of springing back.
  • Splits or nicks have opened up along the edges of the blades.
  • The head no longer grips the handle firmly.

Staining on its own is cosmetic and does not mean the head has stopped working.

How do I replace the head?

Hold the handle in one hand and work the old head off the fitting with the other, then line the new Koh Loo Blade Head up with the fitting and press until it seats. Replacement heads are made for the current Loo Blade, so if yours is an older or differently sized handle, get in touch and we will confirm the fit.
