Is Kitchen Grease & Oil Cleaner the same as Universal Dish Spray?Updated a day ago
TL;DR: No, they are two different products. The old Universal Dish Spray was replaced by Dishwashing Liquid, a thicker concentrated formula for a sink of water or a dish wand. Kitchen Grease & Oil Cleaner is a separate kitchen degreaser for stovetops, rangehoods, oven doors, BBQs, pots, pans and baking trays, and it is the kitchen formula that goes in a Foaming Spray Bottle.
Is Kitchen Grease & Oil Cleaner the same as the old Universal Dish Spray?
✓ Dishwashing Liquid replaced Universal Dish Spray
Universal Dish Spray, also sold as Universal Dish Liquid, was a hand dishwashing product. It was replaced by Dishwashing Liquid, which is thicker and more concentrated and goes into a sink of water or a dish wand rather than a sprayer.
✓ Kitchen Grease & Oil Cleaner is a separate product
Kitchen Grease & Oil Cleaner is built for greasy kitchen surfaces. Pair it with a Foaming Spray Bottle for foam that clings while the enzymes work.
pH 8.5, mildly alkaline. 15 ingredients, two enzymes (Lipase and Protease). Made in Australia, and it lasts around 6 months in an average home.
How do I use Kitchen Grease & Oil Cleaner?
✓ Spray, wait, wipe, rinse
Spray. Fill a Foaming Spray Bottle with Kitchen Grease & Oil Cleaner and spray foam straight onto the greasy surface.
Wait. Give it at least 15 minutes for normal grease, up to 30 minutes for heavy buildup. Reapply if the foam dries out.
Wipe. Use a Dish Sponge, Swedish Dishcloth or Universal Cloth. Step up to a Scrubby Pad or a Grout Brush on stubborn areas.
Rinse. Rinse with clean water before food touches the surface. Dishes, cookware, pots and pans suit it too, rinsed the same way.
⚠ Spot-test delicate surfaces first
The formula sits at pH 8.5, which is mildly alkaline. That is what shifts baked-on grease, and it is also why a hidden-area spot test is worth doing on natural stone benchtops, coated or treated stone, and non-stick cookware coatings.
Everyday laminate, glass, ceramic, sealed stone and stainless steel do not need one.
