How do I use Loo Cleaner Tabs?Updated 13 days ago

TL;DR: Drop one Loo Cleaner Tab directly into the toilet bowl. Let it fizz and dissolve for a few minutes, then scrub the bowl with the Loo Blade. Let the solution sit a few more minutes to clean the surface, then flush. Repeat weekly. For aged or heavily soiled bowls, soak overnight and swap the Loo Blade for a Diamond Sponge.

How do I use Loo Cleaner Tabs in the bowl?

Drop one Koh Loo Cleaner Tab directly into the toilet bowl, ideally near the sides of the bowl so the dissolving solution distributes evenly. Wait a few minutes for the tab to dissolve and fizz fully. Scrub around the bowl with the Koh Loo Blade, paying attention to anything visibly soiled. Let the solution sit a few more minutes, then flush to rinse the cleaner away. Repeat weekly per toilet to prevent build-up. Avoid flushing before the tab has fully dissolved, which can clog plumbing and reduces the cleaning result. The PVOH wrapper does not need to be removed and dissolves with the tab.

✓ Five-step bowl method

1

Drop one tab directly into the toilet bowl, near the sides for even distribution.

2

Let it fizz and dissolve for a few minutes. The wrapper dissolves with the tab.

3

Scrub around the bowl with the Loo Blade.

4

Let the solution sit a few more minutes.

5

Flush to rinse the cleaner away. Repeat weekly per toilet.

⚠ Don't flush before the tab dissolves

Flushing a partially-dissolved tab can clog plumbing and dilutes the cleaning result. Always let the tab fully dissolve and fizz before scrubbing or flushing. Cold-water bowls may need a bit longer.

Wait for full dissolve No early flushing

What about heavily soiled or aged bowls?

For aged, heavily-soiled, or stubborn surface staining, follow the same bowl method but soak the tab overnight rather than for a few minutes. The longer dwell time gives the oxygen-based bleaching agents and enzymes more time to break down protein, mineral, and organic deposits. Then scrub with a Koh Diamond Sponge instead of the Loo Blade. The fine abrasive on the Diamond Sponge lifts aged staining that the Loo Blade won't shift on its own. Wear protective gloves when scrubbing with a Diamond Sponge. If soiling persists after two consecutive weekly treatments, the build-up is most likely limescale (mineral deposits from hard water), which needs a dedicated descaler product to remove fully.

⚠ Use a Diamond Sponge for stubborn build-up

For aged or heavily-soiled bowls, soak the tab overnight and swap the Loo Blade for a Diamond Sponge. Wear protective gloves. If soiling persists after two consecutive weekly treatments, the build-up is likely limescale and needs a dedicated descaler.

Overnight soak Diamond Sponge Wear gloves Persistent = limescale

How often should I use Loo Cleaner Tabs?

Once a week per toilet is the sweet spot for a typical household. Weekly use prevents build-up before it starts, keeps the bowl visually fresh, and avoids overuse of product. High-traffic toilets (shared houses, guest bathrooms, busy family homes) may benefit from two treatments per week. The 14-pack covers around 3.5 months at one tab per week per toilet, or approximately 2 months for an average household with multiple toilets running on the same routine.

✓ Weekly is the sweet spot

Once a week per toilet prevents build-up without overuse. High-traffic toilets can handle twice weekly. The 14-pack covers around 3 months for a single toilet, or about 2 months for an average household running multiple toilets on the same routine.

Weekly clean 14pk = 3.5 months single toilet 14pk = 2 months multi-toilet

How do I use Loo Cleaner Tabs in the cistern tank?

As an alternative to the bowl method, drop a Koh Loo Cleaner Tab into the cistern tank (the water reservoir behind the bowl). Allow around 10 minutes for the tab to dissolve fully in the cistern water, then flush to release the cleaning solution into the bowl. Scrub around the bowl with the Koh Loo Blade, then flush again to rinse. The cistern method works as a slow-release top-up between regular bowl cleans and is ideal for households that want to keep the bowl freshening between active scrubs. The bowl method is still primary for visible soiling, since the dissolved solution stays in direct contact with the soiled surface for the full cleaning window. Either method is fine. Choose based on your routine.

✓ Cistern tank method (alternative)

1

Drop one tab into the cistern tank, the water reservoir behind the bowl.

2

Allow 10 minutes for the tab to dissolve fully in the cistern water.

3

Flush to release the dissolved solution into the bowl, then scrub around the bowl with the Loo Blade.

4

Flush again to rinse. Bowl method is still primary for visible soiling.
