What are Scrubby Pads made of?Updated 5 days ago
TL;DR: Scrubby Pads use a dual-texture microfibre shell (91% polyester, 9% polyamide) wrapped around a soft PU-foam sponge core. Polyester lifts grime and polishes streak-free. Polyamide improves grip on greasy films. The PU-foam stores liquid so you can scrub longer before re-wetting. Not kerbside recyclable. Maximise lifespan by rinsing after use, air-drying, and machine-washing at up to 30 degrees.

What are Scrubby Pads made of?
Two materials. The outer shell is microfibre (91% polyester, 9% polyamide) in a dual-texture weave. The polyester-rich blend lifts grime and polishes streak-free. The polyamide improves grip on greasy films and gives the scrub face its cleaning power. Inside, a soft PU-foam sponge core stores liquid so you can scrub longer before re-wetting, and conforms to curved surfaces like taps and handles without losing structure.
Microfibre outer

Sponge core
Polyurethane (PU) foam. Stores liquid so you can scrub longer before re-wetting. Soft enough to conform to curved surfaces like taps and handles without losing structure.
Can Scrubby Pads be recycled?
Not through kerbside recycling. The mixed microfibre and PU-foam construction isn't accepted by most council collection programs. Check specialty recyclers like TerraCycle for mixed-material textiles. The best environmental move is lifespan extension: rinse thoroughly after each use, air-dry standing on edge, and machine-wash at up to 30 degrees inside a washing bag with a mild detergent when the pad looks dull.

✓ Maximise lifespan
Rinse thoroughly after each use and air-dry standing on edge. Machine-wash at up to 30 degrees inside a washing bag with a mild detergent when the pad looks dull. The longer each pad lasts, the less waste overall.
