Scrubby Pads materials and recyclingUpdated 12 hours ago
TL;DR: Scrubby Pads use a dual-texture microfibre shell (91% polyester, 9% polyamide) wrapped around a soft PU-foam sponge core. The polyester-rich microfibre lifts grime and polishes streak-free. The polyamide improves grip on greasy films. The PU foam stores liquid so you can scrub longer before re-wetting. Not accepted in most curbside recycling. Maximise lifespan by rinsing, air-drying, and machine-washing at a maximum of 30 degrees.
Material breakdown
Microfibre outer
91% polyester, 9% polyamide. The polyester-rich blend lifts grime and polishes streak-free. The dash of polyamide improves grip on greasy films, giving the scrub side its cleaning power.
Sponge core
Polyurethane (PU) foam. Stores liquid so you can scrub longer before re-wetting. Soft enough to conform to curved surfaces like taps and handles without losing structure.
Recycling and end of life
Not curbside recyclable
The mixed microfibre and PU construction is not accepted in most curbside schemes. Check local specialty recycling or TerraCycle for mixed-material textiles.
Maximise lifespan
Rinse thoroughly after each use and air-dry standing on edge. Machine-wash at a maximum of 30 degrees with Sensitive Laundry Liquid or Laundry Sheets inside a washing bag when the pad looks dull. The longer each pad lasts, the less waste overall.

Use with
Scrubby Pads work across the whole Koh range. Pair with Universal Cleaner, Bathroom & Shower Cleaner, Kitchen Grease & Oil Cleaner, or Dishwashing Liquid.
