What is Sensitive Choice certification?Updated 3 hours ago
TL;DR: Sensitive Choice is a program of the National Asthma Council Australia (NACA). It's the blue butterfly logo you see on cleaning, bedding, and personal care products. Sensitive Choice approval is given to products that have been independently reviewed by an expert panel and assessed as potentially beneficial to people living with asthma and allergies. Nine Koh products currently carry Sensitive Choice approval, including Universal Cleaner, Bathroom & Shower Cleaner, Kitchen Grease & Oil Cleaner, Dishwashing Liquid, Dishwasher Tabs, Loo Cleaner Tabs, Sensitive Laundry Liquid, 60 Wash Laundry Liquid, and Stain Remover.

What is Sensitive Choice?
✓ The blue butterfly logo
Sensitive Choice is a program of the National Asthma Council Australia (NACA), Australia's peak body for asthma research and education. The blue butterfly logo identifies products independently reviewed by an expert panel and assessed as potentially beneficial to people living with asthma and allergies.
The program covers cleaning, laundry, bedding, air purifiers, personal care, paint, and other categories where ingredient or particulate exposure may affect people with sensitivities.
How does Sensitive Choice review products?
Sensitive Choice approval is granted by an independent expert panel, not by the brand applying. Products are reviewed against several criteria.
✓ Independent expert panel
Reviews are done by a panel of asthma and allergy specialists. The brand applying does not sit on the panel.
✓ Ingredient assessment
Full ingredient list, formulation, and any known respiratory irritants or common allergens are reviewed.
✓ Use-case considerations
For cleaning products, the panel considers fragrances, airborne particle exposure during use, and how the product is typically applied.
✓ Ongoing approval
Approval can be withdrawn if a product's formulation changes substantively. No self-certification is allowed.
