How do I put Spray Mop together?Updated a day ago

TL;DR: Spray Mop ships in two main pieces: the pole (with handle and trigger on top) and the mop body (with plate and bottle holster). Align the pole over the receiver on the mop body, press straight down until you hear or feel a click, and give it a gentle wiggle to confirm. To pull apart for storage or transport, hold the body steady and pull the pole straight up. Two short videos below show the exact technique.

What's in the box?

Spray Mop ships with five components: the stainless steel pole with handle and trigger on top, the mop body containing the plate and bottle holster, a 500 ml bottle that snaps into the holster, a 5-pack of mop pads, and the green comb (clip-on side scraper). Spray Mop Starter Kit adds Universal Cleaner so you have everything you need to start cleaning.

✓ Pole & handle

Stainless steel pole, 1.2 m. ABS plastic handle with the spray trigger on top.

✓ Mop body

Polypropylene plate and bottle holster, with the green comb (side scraper) clipped on.

✓ Bottle

500 ml polypropylene tank that snaps into the body holster. Fill with Universal Cleaner.

✓ 5 mop pads

Premium microfibre pads with hook-and-loop attachment. Machine washable to 40°C.

How do I put Spray Mop together?

Stand the mop body upright on a flat surface with the plate down and the bottle holster facing forward. Align the lower end of the pole with the receiver on top of the mop body. Press straight down with steady pressure until you feel or hear a click. Give the pole a gentle wiggle to confirm it's seated. The trigger on the handle should then connect with the spray mechanism inside the body. The video on the right shows the exact technique.

✓ Three steps

1

Stand the body upright. Plate down, bottle holster facing forward, on a flat surface.

2

Align and press. Line the lower end of the pole up with the receiver on top of the body. Press straight down with steady pressure.

3

Listen for the click. When you feel or hear a click, give the pole a gentle wiggle to confirm it's seated.

How do I pull Spray Mop apart for storage?

Hold the mop body steady with one hand on the bottle holster section. Pull the pole straight up with your other hand. The pole should release cleanly. Most customers leave Spray Mop assembled day to day; pulling it apart is mainly for transport in a car boot, moving house, or storing in a tight cupboard. The video on the right shows the exact technique.

✓ Two steps

1

Hold the body steady. One hand on the bottle holster section to anchor it.

2

Pull the pole straight up. Other hand grips the pole, pulls upward in a single steady motion. The pole should release cleanly.

What if Spray Mop won't click together?

If the pole won't lock into the mop body, check that the receiver inside the body is clear of debris and that the pole is aligned straight (not tilted). If it still won't click, the connection point may have loosened or compressed over time. The warm-water re-fit method works for the plate and can sometimes help here too: soak the receiver section in warm water for 2 to 3 minutes, then click the pole back in. If the issue persists, Spray Mop comes with a 12-month warranty from purchase date.

✓ Quick checks

Check the receiver inside the body is clear of debris and the pole is aligned straight, not tilted. A tiny dab of water on the joint can help it slide while seating.
