Wash it before first use to prep the fibres. After every clean, rinse under warm water to flush soap scum, then squeeze gently rather than wring. For a machine wash, use a cool cycle with a mild liquid detergent free of dyes, fragrances, bleach, and softeners, wash with non-linting items only (no cotton), and wash darks separately to reduce dye bleed.

Air-drying is preferred. Squeeze out excess moisture, then lay flat on a rack or hang by the cuff loop in a ventilated spot, not a damp cupboard. Tumble drying on a low setting is acceptable occasionally when air-drying isn't practical, but should not be routine, since high heat damages the yarn and shortens the mitt's life. Never iron.

Avoid chlorine bleach, fabric softener (which clogs the microfibre and reduces performance), high-heat tumble drying, and ironing. Don't wash with cotton or other linting fabrics, or with rough items like zippers and hook-and-loop fasteners that could snag the fibres. Don't wring the mitt dry, since twisting damages the yarn.
