Washing the Ultra Pro Bathroom Mitt before first useUpdated 3 hours ago
TL;DR
- One quick wash sets the colour and primes the fibres.
- Machine-wash at 40 °C (warm) with similar colours.
- Use regular detergent; skip bleach and fabric softener.
- Line-dry; avoid high-heat tumble to keep elastics snug and fibers free from heat damage.
- A touch of dye bleed on the first wash is normal.
Why pre-wash?
The dye on new performance fabrics can loosen in the first cycle. A warm pre-wash locks colour, removes factory lint and “activates” the micro-loops so they lather and scrub evenly from day one.
Step-by-step
- Pop the mitt in an Eco Laundry Bag (or wash solo).
- Select a 40 °C cotton cycle with standard spin.
- Add regular liquid detergent, like Sensitive Laundry Liquid. No bleach, no softener.
- Line-dry; keep it out of direct sun to prevent fade.
📝 Tip: Washing other new dark textiles at the same time? Throw in a colour-catcher sheet to trap any loose dye.
