Washing Ultra Pro Bathroom Mitt before first useUpdated 16 hours ago
TL;DR: Yes. Give the Ultra Pro Bathroom Mitt one quick wash at 40 degrees before first use. This locks the colour, removes factory lint, and primes the micro-loops so they lather and scrub evenly from day one. A touch of dye bleed on the first wash is normal.
Why pre-wash?
The dye on new performance fabrics can loosen in the first cycle. A warm pre-wash locks the colour, removes factory lint, and activates the micro-loops so they lather and scrub evenly from day one.
How to pre-wash
Pop the mitt in an eco washing bag or wash on its own.
Select a 40 degree cotton cycle with standard spin.
Add Sensitive Laundry Liquid or Sensitive Laundry Sheets. No bleach, no softener.
Line-dry. Keep out of direct sun to prevent fade.
Dye bleed is normal
A touch of blue dye in the first wash is completely normal. It stops after the initial cycle. Wash with similar colours or use a colour-catcher sheet if washing alongside other dark textiles.
Avoid
No bleach, no fabric softener, and no high-heat tumble dryer. These damage the fibres and shorten the mitt's life.
