What’s Bathroom Squeegee made of, and how do I recycle it?Updated 13 hours ago
TL;DR: Bathroom Squeegee uses a 100% silicone blade and lightweight polyamide handle. Silicone stays flexible longer than rubber, resists mould, and won't scratch glass. Designed to last for years, reducing the need for replacements. Not widely accepted in curbside recycling. Check TerraCycle or local drop-offs, or repurpose for windows, outdoor glass, or car cleaning.
Why silicone and polyamide?
Blade
100% silicone. Stays flexible longer than rubber, giving a streak-free edge that won't harden or crack. Mould-resistant and non-scratching on glass, tiles, and mirrors.
Handle
Lightweight polyamide keeps total weight low (approximately 178 g) while resisting everyday knocks and drops. The 9 mm soft-silicone hook and handle loop provide two hanging options.
Recycling and end-of-life options
Specialty recycling
Not widely accepted in curbside recycling. Some recycling centres accept silicone tools. Search local listings or TerraCycle for drop-off options near you.
Repurpose first
No recycling facilities nearby? Keep a retired squeegee for outdoor windows, garden-shed panes, or car windscreens. Get the full use out of it before disposal.
Built to minimise waste
Long-lasting silicone and polyamide outlive cheaper plastic alternatives, meaning fewer replacements and less landfill over time.
