Why won’t my mop pad adhere to the mop head?Updated 5 hours ago
TL;DR: If your Spray Mop pad is not sticking, especially when new, press it firmly onto the mop head and slide it back and forth to help the hook-and-loop surface properly engage. Make sure both surfaces are clean and completely dry.
Quick fix
Make sure both the mop head and pad backing are clean and completely dry.
Press the pad firmly onto the mop head.
Slide it back and forth (or slightly up and down) while applying pressure. This motion helps the hooks grip into the pad fibres and lock into place.
If it still is not sticking
Check for debris
Lint, dust, or debris trapped in the hook-and-loop surface will prevent a proper grip. Shake or lightly brush the pad backing and the mop head to clear it.
Other causes
If the pad was recently washed, make sure it is fully dry before reattaching. New pads can sometimes need a little extra pressure the first time. If the pad is older, it may have reached the end of its usable life.
