Can I use Sensitive Body Wash on my face?Updated a day ago
TL;DR: Skin varies, and faces are fussier than the rest of us. Sensitive Body Wash is gentle enough for most skin types when used as directed, face included. It's fragrance-free, sulfate-free and pH 5.5. If your skin is highly reactive or compromised right now, patch test first.
Can I use Sensitive Body Wash on my face?
Facial skin is thinner than the skin on your arms and legs, and how it behaves varies from one person to the next. So there's no wash that suits every face, and this one is no exception.
Sensitive Body Wash is fragrance-free, sulfate-free and formulated at pH 5.5. It leaves out the ingredients most commonly linked with skin sensitivity, which is why it's gentle enough for most skin types when used as directed, face included. Hydrolysed jojoba esters and glycerine leave skin feeling soft rather than tight afterwards.
The pH is the part that matters most on a face. At pH 5.5 the wash matches healthy skin, so it doesn't strip the skin's natural moisture barrier the way a wash sitting closer to pH 9 to 10 can.
⚠ Patch test first if your skin is reactive or compromised
If your skin is highly reactive, breaking out, or its barrier is compromised right now, start with a patch test rather than going straight to your face. Put a small amount on the inside of your forearm, rinse it off, and leave it 24 hours. If you see redness or itching, stop using it and talk to your GP, pharmacist or dermatologist.
How do I use Sensitive Body Wash on my face?
Washing your face with Sensitive Body Wash
Splash your face with lukewarm water. Hot water is harder on facial skin than any wash is.
Half a pump is enough. Work it up between wet fingertips first.
Move it over your face in light circles, keeping clear of the eyes.
Rinse thoroughly, then pat dry rather than rubbing.
Follow with your usual moisturiser while the skin is still slightly damp.
What about Sensitive Hand Wash on the face?
If you want a Koh formula on your face, reach for Sensitive Body Wash. Both washes share the same fragrance-free, sulfate-free, pH 5.5 approach, but they're tuned for different jobs. Sensitive Hand Wash is built for frequent short washes at the sink. Body Wash is built for larger areas of skin and a more conditioning wash, which is closer to what a face wants.

Fragrance-free, sulfate-free, pH 5.5. HRIPT dermatologically tested and recognised by the Eczema Association of Australasia. Made in Australia.
