Can I pre-soak clothes with Sensitive Laundry Liquid?Updated 2 hours ago
TL;DR: Add 2 pumps of Sensitive Laundry Liquid to 5 litres of lukewarm water, submerge the garments and soak for up to 2 hours, then wash as normal. The extra contact time is what shifts a stain that's had a chance to set.
Can I pre-soak clothes with Sensitive Laundry Liquid?
✓ Why a soak earns its place
A machine cycle gives the enzymes minutes with a stain. A soak gives them hours. That extra contact time is what makes the difference on something heavily soiled or a mark that's had a few days to dry in, which is why a pre-soak is worth the bucket for the worst items in a load rather than for everything.
⚠ Wool, silk, cashmere, alpaca, mohair and angora are protein fibres and want a cleaner made for them, and a long soak is the worst place to find that out. Hand wash those with a wool or silk wash instead, and follow the garment care label.
How do I pre-soak, step by step?
Pre-soak steps
Fill a tub, sink or bucket with 5 litres of cool to lukewarm water. Never hot.
Add 2 pumps of Sensitive Laundry Liquid using the Laundry Pump, and mix it through the water.
Submerge the garments fully. Anything sitting above the water line won't get the benefit.
Leave for up to 2 hours, then wash as normal in the machine with your usual dose. A normal 3 to 6 kg load takes 24 mL, which is 6 pumps.
How long should I soak for, and how hot?
✓ Two hours is the useful window
Up to 2 hours is where the benefit sits. Past that a soak stops adding much and starts putting the fabric under strain instead, so there's nothing to gain from leaving it overnight. If a mark survives a 2 hour soak, treat it with Stain Remover rather than soaking it for longer.
⚠ Keep the water cool to lukewarm
Hot water works against you twice over. It knocks the enzymes about so they do less, and it sets protein stains like sweat, blood and food into the fibre rather than lifting them out. Cool to lukewarm every time, for the soak and for the wash that follows.

Around 60 washes per box. Works in the machine, by hand or as a pre-soak. Sensitive Choice approved, Dermatest tested. Septic compatible when used as directed. Made in Australia.
