Why are my Koh Perks points showing as reversed?Updated 12 hours ago

TL;DR: "Reversed" points in your Koh Perks activity usually mean one of two things: a backend account adjustment when your loyalty account was first set up, or points that have reached their expiry date. Neither is caused by something you did, and your spendable balance is whatever the top of your account shows.

Why are my Koh Perks points showing as reversed?

"Reversed" entries in your Koh Perks activity history almost always come from one of two causes: a backend balancing adjustment created when your loyalty account was activated, or points that reached their expiry date and were automatically removed. Neither is caused by a purchase, return, or anything you did wrong. The current spendable balance shown at the top of your account is your true balance. The activity log records the full history including backend movements, which can look concerning at a glance but usually isn't.

✓ Account activation adjustment

When you first join Koh Perks, the system can create a balancing entry on the same day. It's an internal backend adjustment, not a deduction caused by a purchase or return.

✓ Points expiry

Points that have reached their expiry date are automatically removed from your balance and logged as a reversal. The reversal date matches the expiry date of the original points.

How can I tell which one applies to me?

To work out whether a reversed entry in your Koh Perks activity is an account activation adjustment or a points expiry, compare the date of the reversal against your Koh Perks enrollment date and any earned points dates. If the reversal is dated within a day or two of when you first joined, it's almost certainly an activation adjustment. If the reversal is dated well after enrollment and matches the timing of older earned points reaching their expiry window, it's an expiry. Your current spendable balance at the top of your account is always your true redeemable amount.

1

Check the date of the reversal

Open your Koh Perks activity log and note the date next to the reversed entry.

2

Compare it to your enrollment date

If the reversal is within a day or two of when you first joined Koh Perks, it's an account activation adjustment.

3

Otherwise, it's likely an expiry

If the reversal is dated well after enrollment and lines up with older points reaching their expiry window, it's a normal expiry. Your current spendable balance at the top of your account is your true redeemable amount, regardless of what the log shows further down.

My reversed entry doesn't match either of those, what now?

If a reversed entry in your Koh Perks activity doesn't line up with your enrollment date or a points expiry window, contact our team. Send us your account email and the date and amount of the reversed entry, and we'll look up the specific transaction in our loyalty system. We can confirm exactly what triggered it and put the points back if anything has gone wrong.

If the reversal doesn't line up with either explanation, send us your account email plus the date and amount of the reversed entry. We'll look up the exact transaction in our loyalty system, confirm what triggered it, and put the points back if anything has gone wrong.
