Can you use Universal Cleaner on stone floors?

Why does a light, quick clean work on stone?
✓ It is all about dwell time
What marks a stone floor is liquid sitting on it, not the cleaner itself. Even plain water will mark some stone finishes if it pools long enough. Spraying a small amount just ahead of the pad and mopping it straight up means nothing gets that time. One trigger pull covers roughly a square metre, two at most.
What if your stone is not listed?
✓ Three steps for a stone that is not listed
Three steps will usually settle it.
1 Spot test. Spray a small amount somewhere out of sight, leave it a few minutes, wipe it off and check for any change in colour, sheen or texture.
2 Check your warranty. See what your flooring or stone supplier asks for. The section below covers what to do if they specify a pH neutral cleaner.

What should you never use on stone floors?
⚠ Never use the Diamond Sponge on stone
The Diamond Sponge is made for hard, non porous, glossy surfaces. On stone it will scratch the surface, and that damage cannot be undone. Stay with the Spray Mop and the Everyday Mop Pads, which are the right pads for stone and polished finishes.
What if your stone warranty asks for a pH neutral cleaner?
✓ Run the mop on water only
Fill the Spray Mop with plain water instead. Same mop, same pads, just a different fill. It is a fully supported way to use the mop, and plenty of customers clean this way by choice.
⚠ Universal Cleaner is not pH neutral
It is an alkaline formulation, which is part of how it lifts grease and grime without scrubbing. Stone suppliers and sealer manufacturers name a pH neutral cleaner more often than most, so check the warranty before you clean, not after.
