Does Universal Cleaner contain palm oil?

No. Universal Cleaner is palm-oil-free. Two ingredients only: potassium hydroxide and reverse osmosis water. GECA eco-certified, vegan, and cruelty-free.

Is Universal Cleaner safe for septic and greywater systems?

Yes, when used as directed. Universal Cleaner is suitable for standard septic systems, greywater reuse, and holding tanks.

What can I use Universal Cleaner on?

How does Universal Cleaner work?

Spray, wait 10 to 30 seconds, wipe. Used undiluted. Potassium hydroxide saponifies grease into soluble soap. Reverse osmosis water carries it off, streak-free.

Is Universal Cleaner chemical-free?

Not technically: nothing is. But Universal Cleaner has just two ingredients and is free from harsh chemicals, fragrances, phosphates, parabens, and bleach.

Does Universal Cleaner kill bacteria and viruses?

Universal Cleaner is lab-tested against salmonella, campylobacter, and E.coli, but isn't a sanitiser or disinfectant and won't kill viruses.

Do I need to spot test Universal Cleaner first?

Yes. Spray a hidden area, wait a few minutes, wipe, check for colour or sheen change.

What can't I use Universal Cleaner on?

Avoid raw soft metals (aluminium, copper, brass, zinc) and aftermarket window tints or specialty glass coatings like EnduroShield. Spot test if unsure.

Can I use Universal Cleaner on food prep surfaces and chopping boards?

Yes. Safe for benchtops, splashbacks, wooden chopping boards, sinks, and the inside of the fridge. Rinse with a damp cloth and air dry before food contact.

Is Universal Cleaner fragrance-free?

Universal Cleaner is 100% fragrance-free. Add 2 to 3 drops of essential oil to your spray bottle if you'd like a scent.

No. Don't use Universal Cleaner on screens; use a dry Glass Cloth on the display, and spray onto the cloth for bezels, stands, and cases.

How do I clean carpets, rugs, and upholstery with Koh?

For large areas, dilute Sensitive Laundry Liquid in a wet-vac; for small spots, blot with Universal Cleaner. Not for wool or silk.

Can I use Universal Cleaner on a leather lounge?

Yes, with care. Spot test, spray on cloth not leather, wipe gently, follow with leather conditioner. Avoid oversaturation. Skip on cracked, peeling, or aniline leather.

Can I use Universal Cleaner in a robot vacuum or mop?

We haven't tested Universal Cleaner with robot vacuums or mops; check your manufacturer's guidelines and spot test first.

Are there any fabrics I shouldn't use with Universal Cleaner?

Avoid wool, silk, cashmere, mohair, and other protein-based natural fibres. Sensitive Laundry Liquid is also unsuitable for these fibres. Use a wool-safe specialist or pro.

Does Koh offer Universal Cleaner in bulk or larger formats?

Can I use Universal Cleaner to wash fruit and vegetables?

No. It's a surface cleaner, not food-safe. Use clean running water or a certified produce wash. Universal Cleaner is fine on benchtops with a damp rinse after.

Can I add essential oils to Universal Cleaner?

Yes. Add 2-3 drops of Koh essential oil to Universal Cleaner in the Atomiser or Spray Mop. Swirl gently. More risks clogging. No pure citrus oils.
