What should I use to clean large areas of carpet?Updated 4 days ago
TL;DR: For cleaning larger carpet, rug, or upholstery areas, dilute Sensitive Laundry Liquid and use it with a handheld wet-vac or upholstery/carpet cleaning machine. For small spots, use Universal Cleaner.
For Large Carpet, Rug, or Upholstery Areas
We recommend using:
- 1 pump (4ml) of Sensitive Laundry Liquid per 1L of warm water
- Fill the machine tank with warm water first, then add the detergent
- Use your wet-vac, carpet cleaner, or upholstery machine according to the manufacturer’s instructions
- Allow the surface to dry completely before using
Sensitive Laundry Liquid contains enzymes such as protease that help break down protein-based stains. Because protein-based fabrics (like wool and silk) are also made of proteins, these enzymes can start to break down the fibres themselves, which may lead to weakening, damage, or a roughened texture.
For Small Spots & Marks
For small stains or targeted spot cleaning (especially on rugs or upholstery), use Universal Cleaner.
- Spray lightly onto the affected area
- Blot gently with a clean cloth
- Avoid oversaturating the fabric or carpet backing
Important
- Do not use on wool, silk, or other protein-based fibres.
- Always spot test first in an inconspicuous area.
- Avoid soaking upholstery cushions, as moisture can become trapped inside the foam.
- Results may vary depending on fabric type and stain.
