Which fabrics should I avoid?Updated 8 days ago
TL;DR: Don’t use Stain Remover on wool, silk, cashmere, alpaca, rayon/viscose or linen. On other fabrics, do a quick spot test in a hidden area first.
Fabrics to avoid
- Wool
- Silk
- Cashmere
- Alpaca
- Rayon / Viscose
- Linen
These fibres can be sensitive to enzymes and may weaken, fuzz or lose colour when treated.
Safe-use checklist for other fabrics
- Read the garment care label.
- Spot test: Apply to a hidden seam, wait 5-10 minutes, then rinse and check.
- Treat stains as soon as they happen and avoid letting them dry.
- After pre-treating, wash as normal and rinse well.
What to do if used by mistake
- Rinse the area immediately with cool water.
- Handwash gently with a mild detergent suitable for delicates.
- Avoid heat until you’re sure the fabric looks and feels normal.
