Why we split Laundry Liquid & Stain Remover (and what changed)Updated 20 hours ago
TL;DR: We retired our Universal Laundry Liquid in mid-late 2024 and replaced it with Sensitive Laundry Liquid for the main wash, plus a dedicated Stain Remover for pre-treating. This new Laundry Liquid is a thicker, improved detergent that’s not compatible with the Foaming Spray Bottle. If you want a foaming pre-treat, use the Stain Remover.
What changed, and why
- We listened to feedback. Our Koh-mmunity told us they wanted stronger wash performance and a gentler experience for sensitive households. We reformulated and launched Sensitive Laundry Liquid.
- New texture. The new Laundry Liquid is thicker by design to improve dosing control and wash performance. That extra viscosity means it’s not suitable for the Foaming Spray Bottle and won’t foam properly. For decanting out of the box, pair Sensitive Laundry Liquid with Laundry Pump.
- Specialisation over compromise. Many of you missed a foaming pre-treat. We created a purpose-built Stain Remover and put all our learnings into it.
Quick comparison
Feature | Sensitive Laundry Liquid | Stain Remover |
---|---|---|
Main job | Everyday & heavy-duty washing in machine (and handwash per label) | Foaming pre-treat directly on stains before the wash |
Texture | Thicker liquid for controlled dosing | Light, sprayable foam for spot treatment |
Foaming Spray Bottle | Not compatible (too viscous) | Designed for it |
Best use | Dose by load size/soil and run cycle as normal | Spray on stain, wait a few minutes, then launder |
How to choose
- Use Sensitive Laundry Liquid for regular washing, sweaty gear, school uniforms, and mixed loads.
- Use Stain Remover to pre-treat localised stains (food, mud, sweat marks, etc.) before the wash.
- Team them up: Pre-treat with Stain Remover, then run your usual cycle with Sensitive Laundry Liquid or Sheets.
